This is kinda dumb but it’s fun to read. Texas Rules!

WHY CALIFORNIA IS BETTER THAN TEXAS:

- I can wear sandals all year long
- I go to the Beach - not "down to the shore"
-Our chicks are WAYYYY hotter than yours. Well…Miami can hang.
- I say "like" and "for sure" and "right on" and "dude" and "totally" and "peace out" and "chill" and "tight" and "bro" and I say them often
- I know what real cheese & avocados taste like
-Everyone smokes weed and its no big deal
-We’ll roll up 40 deep when something goes down.
-I live next door to Mexicans, but we call them American’s!
-All the porn you watch is made here, cause we’re better and thats how it is
- I don’t get snowdays off because theres only snow in Mammoth, Tahoe, Shasta, and Big Bear
- I know 65 mph really means 100
- When someone cuts me off, they get the horn and the finger and high speed chase cuz we don’t screw around on the road
- The drinking age is 21 but everyone starts at 14 (legally 18 if you live close enough to the border)
- My governor can kick your governors ass
- I can go out at midnight
-You judge people based on what area code they live in, and when asked where you’re from, you give your area code
- I might get looked at funny by locals when I’m on vacation in their state, but when they find out I’m from California I turn into a Greek GOD
- We don’t stop at stop signs… we do a "california roll"
- I can get fresh and REAL Mexican food 24 hours a day
- All the TV shows you "other" states watch get filmed here
- We’re the Golden State. Not the Cheese State. Not the Garden State…..GOLDEN!!!
- We have In-N-Out (Arizona and Vegas are lucky we share that with them)
- I have the most representation in the House of Representatives, which means MY opinion means more than yours, which means I’m better than you
- The best athletes come from here
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

WHY TEXAS IS BETTER THAN CALIFORNIA:

Hey… California listen up… Texas is where its at!
- I too can wear sandals all year long… plus I can put on boots to stomp your toes and I won’t even stick out.
- You may be able to go to the "beach" instead of the "shore"… but can you go to the drive thru "Beer Barn?" What now surfer boy?
- You’re chicks aren’t way hotter than ours… they are almost equal… and thats only due to silicone, saline, botox, lasers and hair dye… We have the real ones and they can beat yours up.
- We’re taught to say "Yes Sir" and "Yes Ma’am" and respect our elders because of it. We also say "Howdy" and "fixin" and "Yall" are pretty much recognized right away anywhere in the world :) We’re famous
- You may know what real cheese and avocados taste like… but I know what 100% Grade A Angus Beef tastes like. Who wants avocados and cheese when you can have steak and potatoes?
- Haha… who do you think grows the weed and sells it to you?
- Why roll 40 deep when something goes down if 5 corn fed country boys can get the job done…
- I live next door to Americans, but we call them Mexicans
- About your Porn…. 3 words… "Debbie Does Dallas"… You can brag about it now, but we started it
- Why would you brag about not getting snow days off?
- We’re smart enough to know 65mph means 65, but our speed limit is 70.
- When someone cuts me off, they get run over by my big ass truck, then I give them the finger and tell them to go back to california.
- The drinking age is 21, but if you aren’t chasin the beer by 1 yr old… you’re behind and that’s also why half of your population is in rehab by the age of 12!
- Yeah, Well my governor became the President of the United States… yours isn’t even eligible.
- You can go out at midnight? Thats nice, I haven’t even come home by then.
- Ok… you said,"You judge people based on what area code they live in, and when asked where you’re from, you give your area code" and as hard as I try I have no idea what you’re talking about… I think you’re watching too much TV.
- Yeah, you’ll definitely get looked at funny when you come to visit but we have another name for you pretty boys, and its not Greek, its French.
- Of course you don’t stop at stop signs… none of you can drive.
- You can pick up Real Mexican food 24 hours a day huh… well I can swing by home depot and pick up 24 Real Mexicans anytime of day. Can you say catering?
- All the TV shows get filmed there… but where does your favorite poker game come from? Texas Hold’em anyone?
- You can keep your golden state… We’re the Lone Star State…the one and only!!
- Do I have to remind you about the drive thru Beer Barn again? Does In-N-Out serve alcohol? (Oh and did I mention Dr. Pepper was created in Texas?)[TEXAS does have an In-N-Out as well. Liberty, Texas, baby...so stick that in your juice box and suck it!]
- You guys have the best athletes huh?… Eight words… Lance Armstrong and The University of Texas at Austin
Though I could mention MICHAEL JOHNSON - Olympic Sprinter, World record holder in 200m and 400m, 5 Olympic Gold medals, 9 time World Champion (born Dallas, TX)
Oh and remind me again who won the Rose Bowl between USC and Texas????? I believe it was the LONGHORNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Football is a religion, not a sport
- In Texas, football means football, not soccer.
- 90% of football "movies" you guys are making are about Texas Football.
-Varsity Blues, filmed in Georgetown, TX - Friday Night Lights, filmed in Odessa, TX - Necessary Roughness, filmed in San Marcos, TX
- Texas is the only state that can still separate to become its own country. The only way California’s gonna accomplish that is if another earthquake comes along and you guys sink into the ocean. Can you say Atlantis…. hahaha
-Everything is BIGGER in TEXAS

And as the Great Sam Houston once said "Texas could survive without the United States, but the United States could not survive without Texas"

Please do not use a form of translater on the internet, the translaters translate the statment literally, which means it will come out wrong.

Thanks to anyone that helps! (= even do one paragraph, and it will make me happy(=

Lance is going to compete in the Tour de France and Giro d’Italia in 2009. Do you think the Uniballer will add the Vuelta a Espana as well? I’d love to see him finish out his career with a Grand Slam, wouldn’t you?

I met Lance back in about 1984 when he was a pro-triathlete. He was impressive to watch and meet. What are your opinions on his return to try an 8th Tour de France victory?

My husband was watching the Giro and really wants these sunglasses. His birthday is August 5th. I’m thinking the sunglasses are from the UK please help!!!!!!

All of these people are (or were, some are dead), either professed atheists or agnostics - would you read their books, see their movies, support their athleticism, listen to their songs, or watch their shows? George Carlin, Woody Allen, Katherine Hepburn, Jodie Foster, Lance Armstrong, Matt Groenig (Simpsons creator), James Taylor, Bill Gates (Microsoft - you use a computer, right?), Camille Paglia, Ron Reagan Jr., Ted WIlliams, Barry Manilow, HP Lovecraft, Issac Asimov, Mark Twain, Antonio Banderas, Andy Rooney, Dave Matthews, Joe Rogan (Fear Factor), Penn Jilette (Penn and Teller), John Malkovich, Jack Nicholson, Rodney Dangerfield, Diane Keaton, Billy Joel, Dick Cavett, Mike Nichols, Keanu Reeves? And countless others? Or does it make a difference to you what they believe? This is a serious question, and I am truly curious as to your views.
This was NOT meant to be hateful! I really do want to know and I am genuinely interested!

In Lance Armstrong’s new commercial the chorus sounds so familiar, but I can’t figure it out. What is the song that they’re only playing the chorus to? If you need to listen the url is below.

Thanks you

Does anybody else think that this year’s Giro d’Italia was just a prologue to a huge future Tour de France competition? Both Alberto Contador and Riccardo Ricco have similar riding styles, and both have asserted themselves as strong young riders.

As a side question, will Benatti and Cavendish and their battle in the Giro be a precursor to a sprinters rivalry as well?

Lance Armstrong: Patience running thin with D.C.
POSTED: 5:13 p.m. EST, January 10, 2007
Lance Armstrong, one of cycling’s all-time greats and possibly the world’s best known cancer survivor, founded the Lance Armstrong Foundation with the goal of inspiring and empowering people with cancer. He now campaigns for more government funds for cancer research and treatment.

AUSTIN, Texas (CNN) — I’m not known for my patience. Patience is a polite quality and often appropriate, but it rarely gets things done. Impatience, however, is the hunger for results and intolerance for excuses and delays. Impatience got me over countless mountain passes, across the finish line in New York City and through four rounds of ruthless chemotherapy 10 years ago.

Yet this election season I patiently waited to hear a candidate for office explain to constituents what he or she planned to do about one of the leading threats to the health and well-being of all Americans — cancer. My patience was greeted with silence.

Cancer will impact one in two men and one in three women in their lifetime. It is devastating and it is pervasive. In fact, every year 1.3 million Americans are diagnosed with cancer. (Visit a CNN special, "Saving Your Life" )

Thankfully, our country has made tremendous progress in this fight and produced remarkable advances in the way we prevent, diagnose and treat cancer. Today, in many cases, we can humbly say that cancer is no longer a death sentence. The medical advances achieved by our nation’s best doctors and researchers have given us reasons to hope.

But in spite of this vast body of knowledge, 1,500 people will die from cancer today and tomorrow and the day after that, often because the care they needed to prevent cancer or survive it was not available to them. (Watch cancer survivors describe their ordeal )

However, our nation’s second-leading killer did not make the list of issues that our candidates used to get people to the polls last November. Anyone with a television or access to a newspaper can list the ballot box issues that occupied our candidates’ attention — they range from bickering to very real concerns and challenges.

The political ads didn’t tell voters that earlier in the year funding for cancer research was cut for the first time in 30 years. Nor did they explain that a lack of funding slows the pace of scientific discovery and the development of treatments. Our candidates did not mention the decrease in funding for programs that provide information and screening to people who need these services. I think this is unwise, but it is what our government has done this past year. I waited patiently for an explanation, some clarification or justification. Ten million cancer survivors deserve an answer. We didn’t get one.

It is true that state and federal budgets are constrained by many important responsibilities. But cancer doesn’t care about that.

It is time to hold our leaders accountable. It remains to be seen if the change in power on Capitol Hill will affect the fight against cancer. In two years we will elect a new president. We cannot predict the actions of any of our elected officials, but we can say for sure that when it comes to cancer their silence is unacceptable.

Patient people may accept the status quo, but the status quo isn’t working for us. Instead, we need to stubbornly hold our leaders accountable and we need the courage to ask tough questions of our elected officials. Few issues facing our government are more personal or more critical than the health of our citizens. What are we going to do to effectively fight cancer? Millions of Americans with cancer are asking.

I do not know the history but i was watching the Tour de France last night and the commentator said he didnt think it was a good idea for Lance to return when the sport of cycling is trying to clean up it image. Any info will be appreciated

I like to watch the tour on tv however i rarely have a few hours to dedicate to watching tv. just wondering if there were some way to watch the coverage online for free so i can have it on at work. thanks.

What would be a good site/s to watch the Tour de France live this year?

I will be visiting Italy in May/June and I want to make it from Venice to Milan to see the end of the Giro d’Italia, but I will not be able to leave Venice until the morning of the last stage. Is it reasonable for me to try to go?

Jennifer Capriati, who turned 30 on Thursday, acknowledged her career could be over. She said it breaks her heart to watch tennis matches since she was forced to stop playing due to four surgeries — two to her right shoulder and two to her right wrist.

Capriati was at the NASDAQ-100 Open Friday, watching from a television booth as top-ranked Amelie Mauresmo lost 6-1, 6-4 to her doubles partner, Svetlana Kuznetsova.
I’m not playing at all right now, I can’t, the rehab is not going as I’d like, and this is harder than anything else I’ve been through because it’s not in my hands," she told a few reporters who stopped her in the hallway. "It would be unfortunate if I go out this way. But if I do, I’ll have to just look back at my career as one big accomplishment. I’m not retired yet, though. This is just another test, another avenue to go down."

Capriati has been absent from the tour since November 2004. Her last surgery was June 2005, and she said she has no idea when — or if — she’ll make a comeback.

"At first, I thought, ‘OK, I’ll take a little break and come back rejuvenated, but this has been a little too long,’ " Capriati said. "I guess the answer will just come. For now, I have to use positive thinking and try to still believe I can come back some day."

Capriati made her tour debut in 1990 at age 13 and immediately became the youngest player ever to make a final. She went on to win two Australian Opens (2001 and 2002), the 2001 French Open, and million in prize money. In 2004, she reached the semis at the French Open and U.S. Open before the injuries halted her career.

She is known for one of the greatest comebacks in the sport. Capriati struggled through personal and legal troubles in 1994 and 1995, and fell out of the rankings. She came back after a 15-month layoff and finished 1996 ranked No. 24. By 2001, she had rejuvenated her career and was up to No. 2. She remained in the Top 10 through 2004.

"Look at Lance Armstrong, and Andre [Agassi], they made comebacks," she said. "I’m still young and I won’t give up."
I really hope her career isnt over she is my hero.i miss cheering her on and watching her play…get well soon jen..
